About Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal
Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal is the newer of Dubai’s two cruise gateways, opened in 2021 as the centrepiece of a waterfront district between Palm Jumeirah and Bluewaters Island. It can berth two of the world’s largest cruise ships simultaneously and is the home port for several major lines operating Gulf and Indian Ocean itineraries. The wider Dubai Harbour district includes the Address Beach Resort, the Palm Tower viewing deck, restaurants and a marina, so passengers stepping off the ship are immediately within a developed leisure area. Future plans add a yacht club and additional retail along the breakwater, all served by a dedicated access road that connects to Sheikh Zayed Road.
Getting from Dubai Harbour to Dubai
Dubai Harbour sits on the coast in the Marina and JBR area. JBR beach is a 5-minute drive away, the Marina is 10 minutes and Palm Jumeirah is 15 minutes via the crescent bridge. Downtown Dubai with Burj Khalifa takes around 30 minutes by car outside rush hour. Bur Dubai and Deira are 35 to 45 minutes away, and Abu Dhabi is around 90 minutes. The Dubai Metro Red Line is a short ride away at DAMAC Properties station, although most cruise passengers prefer a door-to-door transfer with luggage. Bluewaters Island and the Ain Dubai observation wheel are also walkable from the terminal for passengers with time to fill before disembarkation transfers.
Berths and pickup points
The terminal has two main cruise berths along the harbour edge, with a unified arrivals hall. Once disembarkation is complete, walk through the terminal to the main entrance, where pre-booked drivers wait in the dedicated pickup zone holding a name sign. Vehicle access points are clearly signposted and the walk from ship to car is barrier-free, which helps with cruise luggage loads. Porter assistance can be added at booking, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles can be specified in advance for passengers with reduced mobility.
Common transfer routes from Dubai Harbour
The most-booked rides run to Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah and Downtown Dubai for hotel stays, and onward to DXB or DWC airports for departing flights. Day excursions to Abu Dhabi take around 90 minutes via Sheikh Zayed Road, and shorter trips inland reach the desert at Al Marmoom for dune drives. Onward transfers to Port Rashid for guests joining a second cruise also occur. Charter operators booking pre or post-cruise tours often combine a Burj Khalifa observation deck visit and a desert sundowner with the airport drop-off as a fixed-fare full-day charter.
Booking your Dubai Harbour transfer
Booking takes about two minutes. Enter ship name, expected disembarkation time and party size, then choose a saloon, SUV, minivan or minibus depending on your luggage. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before pickup, and Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Alipay are accepted at checkout. Child seats can be added for a small fee and any specific request can be left in the booking notes for the driver.
