Barcelona-El Prat (BCN), officially Aeropuerto Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, is Spain’s second-largest airport, handling roughly 50 million passengers in 2024. It sits about 14 km south-west of central Barcelona, on the coast at El Prat de Llobregat, with three runways and two terminals. Long-haul intercontinental routes, the major full-service carriers and Vueling’s main hub operations run from T1, while T2 (split into satellites T2A, T2B and T2C) handles most low-cost traffic.

Both terminals are connected by a free shuttle bus that runs every 6 to 7 minutes, taking about 10 minutes between them. For pre-booked transfers, the driver positions inside the correct terminal so no shuttle is needed.

The road into the city follows the C-32 motorway and the Ronda Litoral coastal ring road, with most central hotels exiting at La Rambla or Marina.
