About Copenhagen Port

Copenhagen Port (port code DKCPH) is one of the busiest cruise hubs in Northern Europe and a frequent turnaround stop for Baltic Sea and North Sea itineraries. The port spreads across several quays, but cruise passengers most commonly disembark at Oceankaj in the Nordhavn district or at the Langelinie pier near The Little Mermaid statue. A smaller number of ships call at Nordre Toldbod close to Amalienborg Palace.

Together, Copenhagen’s cruise terminals handled more than 300 cruise calls in recent peak seasons, with hundreds of thousands of passengers turning around in the city between voyages.

Getting from Copenhagen Port to Copenhagen

A pre-booked private transfer from Oceankaj or Langelinie to the city is the simplest option when you have several pieces of luggage after a cruise. The drive from Oceankaj to Indre By covers around 6 km and takes about 15 minutes outside rush hour. From Langelinie it is closer to 10 minutes.

For an onward flight, the drive to Copenhagen Airport is roughly 15 km and takes around 25 minutes from either terminal. Plan to leave the port at least three hours before a long-haul departure to allow for the queues that build at CPH on cruise turnaround mornings.

Terminals and pickup points

Oceankaj has three cruise berths and a modern terminal building with covered drop-off zones. Drivers wait at the kerbside outside the assigned terminal, holding a name sign. At Langelinie, drivers wait at the pier-side road close to the gangway, since the terminal itself is a simpler open-air setup.

If your cruise line uses Nordre Toldbod or Frihavnen instead, the same principle applies and the assigned pickup location appears on your booking confirmation.
