Oslo Port (NOOSL) is one of Norway’s busiest passenger ports, handling both ocean cruise calls and major ferry services into the Oslofjord. The cruise berths cluster close to the city centre, with Søndre Akershuskai sitting directly beneath Akershus Fortress and Vippetangen a short walk from Aker Brygge. Filipstad and Revierkaia handle overflow when several large ships call on the same day.

Ferry traffic uses Hjortneskaia for Color Line services to Kiel and DFDS services to Copenhagen, with daily sailings throughout the year. Combined annual passenger numbers across cruise and ferry traffic run well into the millions.

Getting from Oslo Port to Oslo

A pre-booked private transfer from the cruise berths to a central Oslo hotel typically takes around 10 minutes outside rush hour, since most berths sit within 2 km of Karl Johans gate. From Hjortneskaia, the drive into the centre is closer to 15 minutes via Filipstad and Aker Brygge.

For an onward flight, the drive from Oslo Port to Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL) takes around 50 minutes on the E6 motorway. Plan to leave the port at least three hours before a long-haul departure.

Terminals and pickup points

Cruise passengers usually disembark at Søndre Akershuskai or Vippetangen. Drivers wait at the kerbside outside the gangway with a name sign. At Filipstad and Revierkaia, the kerbside zone is signposted close to the berth. Ferry passengers at Hjortneskaia exit through the Color Line or DFDS terminal building, where drivers wait at the kerbside.
