About Port Austerlitz Paris

Port Austerlitz is one of the river ports operated along the Seine inside central Paris. The berth sits on quai d’Austerlitz in the 13th arrondissement, on the left bank between the pont d’Austerlitz and the pont Charles-de-Gaulle, with the BnF François-Mitterrand library further downstream. It is used by several long-itinerary river cruises towards Normandy and by dinner-cruise operators for evening departures with views of Notre-Dame, the Île de la Cité and the Eiffel Tower.

Unlike a sea cruise port, Paris’s Seine berths have no terminal building of their own. Embarkation usually happens directly from the quayside via the operator’s gangway, with a small check-in desk on board. The closest major rail station is Gare d’Austerlitz, a 5-minute walk across boulevard de l’Hôpital.

Getting from Port Austerlitz Paris to Paris

The port is already inside central Paris, so most onward journeys are short. Metro line 5 stops at Gare d’Austerlitz and metro line 14 stops at Cour Saint-Émilion across the river. For groups with cruise luggage, a pre-booked private transfer to your hotel, the airport or the next train station is the simplest option; the driver pulls up on quai d’Austerlitz and helps with the bags.

The quay sits a short walk from Gare d’Austerlitz, which makes onward Intercités or TGV connections straightforward. For airport runs, Orly is the closer option at 16 km south, typically 25 to 45 minutes away, while Charles de Gaulle is 27 km north-east at 45 to 65 minutes. Build at least 3 hours between disembarkation and a flight to allow time for unloading from the cruise, the transfer itself, and check-in.

Berths and pickup points

Cruise operators berth along quai d’Austerlitz at the position assigned by Haropa Ports on the day. The driver meets you at the top of the gangway on the access road. If the operator assigns a different berth (occasionally Bercy or Grenelle for capacity reasons), let us know at least 24 hours ahead so the driver can adjust the pickup point.
