About the Port of Grenelle

The Port of Grenelle is one of the dedicated river-cruise berths along the Seine inside central Paris. It runs along the left bank in the 15th arrondissement, on the port de Grenelle stretch facing the Île aux Cygnes, the narrow artificial island that ends with a small replica of the Statue of Liberty. The Eiffel Tower rises a few hundred metres upstream, which makes Grenelle one of the most photographed embarkation points in the city.

As with the other Seine berths, there is no terminal building. Embarkation happens via the operator’s gangway directly from the quay, with check-in on board. The closest metro is Bir-Hakeim on line 6 (5 minutes’ walk) or Charles Michels on line 10 (8 minutes), and RER C stops at Champ-de-Mars-Tour-Eiffel across the river.

Getting from the Port of Grenelle to Paris

The port is central, so onward connections are short. The 7th and 16th arrondissements are walking distance, and the metro reaches Saint-Germain, the Louvre and Opera in 15 to 25 minutes. For groups with cruise luggage, or for transfers to either airport, a pre-booked private car is the easier choice. The driver waits on the port de Grenelle access road and helps load bags directly from the gangway.

Grenelle’s left-bank position means Montparnasse is the nearest major rail station, around 3 km south and a useful onward point for TGV services to Brittany and Bordeaux. For airports, Orly is 18 km south (30 to 50 minutes typical drive) and Charles de Gaulle is 30 km north-east (50 to 70 minutes), both with the same fixed-fare model and flight tracking.

Berths and pickup points

Cruise operators berth along the port de Grenelle stretch at the position allocated on the day. The driver meets you at the top of the gangway on the access road. If your operator switches berth to Suffren, Austerlitz or Bercy at short notice, pass the change to us 24 hours ahead so the pickup point can move.
